Mystery Ranch is a company that specializes in backpacks and packs. The name might not be as well known, but they are doing excellent designing of their items for people who love the great outdoors. In this Mystery Ranch Sphinx 60 review, we will discuss the comfort, suspension, weight, ease of use, adjustability, value, durability, material, and other features of the pack.

Our Verdict

Mystery Ranch, located in Bozeman, Montana, since 2000, has been making backpacking packs. Still, the company was founded by Dana Gleason and Renee Sippel-Baker, who had made great load haulers throughout their careers. The Mystery Ranch team now produces for all uses like law enforcement or fire fighting. However, they haven’t forgotten about mountain adventurers due to its founder Bill Provance’s roots as well: enter “The Sphinx 60”. This pack combines comfort with ergonomics, making it perfect if you plan to hike through rugged terrain.

The durable pack is perfect for hiking through the mountains, carrying your camping supplies. Its lightweight frame makes it easy to carry even when fully loaded with gear

Are You in Hurry? Here is a Quick Review of Mystery Ranch Sphinx 60

The Sphinx 60 is an excellent choice if you’re looking to go on an extended adventure as it’s robust enough that nothing can ruin your trip, but lightweight so carrying extra gear isn’t too tricky.

It has many features that will make your journey easy, including pockets and lash points, so you can carry extra gear without weighing yourself down with unnecessary weight or worries.

Detailed Review of Mystery Ranch Sphinx 60

Performance Comparison of mystery ranch sphinx 60 Review

The Mystery Ranch was a comfortable pack when not overloaded and was easy to get used to.

Suspension and Comfort

The Sphinx 60 is a pack that’s perfect for short hikes and day trips. The suspension design makes getting used to the weight feel effortless while still comfortable enough when carrying up about forty pounds of gear at once. Although we found ourselves wishing there were more rigid materials on our shoulders straps or hip belts, anything heavier tends not to support you unless they’re made from thicker material like steel plates, which most packs lack these days anyway. Still, overall it’s worth checking out if your shortest distance commute requires something light yet durable such as this model.

Weight

The weight of this pack is 4.8 pounds, which we feel to be a little too much due to the lack of carrying support for heavy loads and its inability to be tough enough. However, despite these shortcomings, if their primary function was simply transportation, then we are sure they could do wonders. Usually, what people want most out of any bag isn’t necessarily how long one can stay dry but instead does not get dirty quickly either.

Features and Ease of Use

This backpack’s design is perfect for all of your outdoor adventure needs. The bag has a long, easy-access zipper that runs down the outside of it to help you find things without having to dig around at the bottom for them. There’s also plenty of space inside and out, which makes packing your bag more accessible than ever.

Removable top lid

The top lid can be removed with just one or two quick-release buckles so getting in there is simple as pie. But make sure not to open up too wide when zipping back up because everything will fall off unless held by something sturdy like metal bars near its corners.

Features and Ease of Use of mystery ranch sphinx 60 Review

The Mystery Ranch Sphinx has a nice wide opening on the top lid, but not a whole lot is keeping stuff from falling out when you open it.

Hipbelt

The pockets on the hip belt are great for stowing any small items you may need during your adventure. For example, you can easily hold a phone, camera or snacks without feeling too weighed down by this waist pack.

Features and Ease of Use of mystery ranch sphinx 60 Reviews

This pack had excellent hip belt pockets. Plenty large for a large phone, small camera, tons of snacks or a map and compass.

Zippers

The oversized zippers make accessing these storage spaces very quick and easy, so there’s no worry about rummaging around trying to find what one needs when they’re in motion.

The flaws of this product are not significant, but they do exist. For example, the water bottle pockets work well with Nalgene bottles. However, it won’t be easy if you use taller ones or containers on top like an insulated mug due to their shorter length. Additionally, there is no forward-facing option available which can make accessing your preferred beverages while out running errands more challenging than other packs we tested, including some that didn’t have these limitations at all.

The designers who created this pack seem pretty aware of its shortcomings. Many updates made since the first publication include adjustments such as extending pocket depth by 2 inches, so users sport large sport hydration reservoirs.

Adjustability

The Mystery Ranch Sphinx pack is available in four sizes, and the website has an easy-to-follow guide for finding your perfect fit. The adjustable shoulder yoke can be installed on this bag with a hook-and-loop. It makes adjustments simple since all you need are scissors or a knife to cut away at the fabric once it’s unhooked from its clips. Hip belts aren’t removable, but they will fit most people well thanks to their extraordinary length that should accommodate any size up until about 2XLs.

 Value

The Mystery Ranch Sphinx 60 is a great pack. It’s well-designed, intuitive and makes long distances more comfortable than other packs we have tested in the past because of its unique features. Its computer cut shoulder straps make carrying heavier loads easier on your back. The only thing preventing me from giving this product 5 stars are those hefty price tags.

Final Thoughts

The Sphinx 60 is one sweet pack, and with its basic design, it’s comfortable. The bladder pocket on the bag means you don’t need to carry around water bottles anymore. Plus, no pesky bags take up space where your belongings should go. This ranks high on the user-friendly scale because everything can be accessed while wearing them.
