Are You in Hurry? Here is a Quick Review of Patagonia Black Hole

The new Patagonia Black Hole duffel is more durable and water-resistant than ever, with an intuitive buckle design that makes quick airport transitions easy.

The updated version of this bag has been tested extensively by our team over the last months – we’re impressed every time.

The straps on this bag have been a pain point in the past, but they are much easier to remove with recent updates. You no longer need to thread them through tight buckles and now pull hard.

Detailed Review of Patagonia Black Hole Duffle Bag

Ease of Transport

Thanks to its soft and adjustable shoulder straps, the Patagonia Black Hole from our top-performing model is one of the most comfortable backpacks we tested.

This top-performing bag also has an excellent performance score in this metric.

The Black Hole is an ideal bag to use if you’re looking for a comfortable, secure shoulder strap that allows easy access and checking in at airports.

“Our only wish” is that adding another chest strap could make carrying it around even more efficient while travelling abroad. The backpack’s straps have an easy pass-through buckle design on top and traditional side release buckles at the bottom.

The Black Hole is a traditional briefcase-style carry bag with two permanently attachable straps worn on the wearer’s back. The shorter and superior design choice for this backpack style is its shoulder harness. It is perfect if you need to transport heavy loads like laptops or clothing.

There is also low profile grab handles at both ends so as not ot damage any surfaces when entering/exiting vehicles, making carrying easy no matter where life takes us.

The sleek exterior finish makes sure there’s never anything blocking what views should see while travelling – whether it landscapes from far away lands across oceans; people are bustling around city streets below ground level.

The bag is equipped with four sets of vertically oriented daisy chains, plus a few extra lash points that make it easy to attach the product onto auto rooftops or yaks.

The Black Hole’s side pocket allows you to store your gear in a smaller footprint when not using it, and the feature stuffs inside another piece of luggage for easy packing.

This bag is excellent for people with limited storage space, but it folds up when you don’t need the extra room.

Storage and Ease of Packing

The Black Hole makes it easy to load and access its main storage compartment with a large D-shaped zippered opening. The 900 deniers recycled polyester also has some softness that helps handle certain circumstances but not when packing, as this fabric will want to form around whatever you’re loading into your bag.

The two pockets under the lid helped us stay just a little more organized. But, unfortunately, after using these, we missed them every time packing up different models with only one giant mesh pocket where everything would inevitably get clumped together and be harder to find – even though it is supposed to be your go-to place for all.

Not only does the bag come with an external zippered pocket, but you can also stuff it and use it as your own to store things. So it’s perfect for storing gear in when there is no room left on board.

We took the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel for a test drive and found that it comfortably fit all of our gear with room to spare. Moreover, the sizeable 100-litre volume is perfect if you need more space or something extra durable. At the same time, smaller options are available in 55 litres (for those who travel light) as well 70L versions, which offer an excellent compromise between capacity and weight distribution when on expeditions abroad.

The Black Hole’s 900-denier recycled polyester is durable and withstands everything we could throw at it during our side-by-side testing. It also stood up to a few remote expeditions.

However, just like other top-rated bags with 1000 denier material which make them more resistant against tears or sharp objects penetrating their surface, you might want this option if durability matters the most for your needs.

Durability of Pantagonia Black Hole

The fabric of this bag is thin and supple, making it more comfortable to carry but slightly compromising durability.

The padding on this bag will protect your gear from overzealous baggage handlers and the rigours of rugged travel. Plus, it adds an extra layer to ensure you’re getting your money’s worth!

We have tested multiple iterations of this duffel bag. It’s one of those that never change much but always stay at an excellent standard – which makes it all too easy for you to get lost in your thoughts while walking down memory lane. The design remains functional yet straightforward with wide straps and low weight compared to other products on today’s market. The 3.8 pounds that this 100-litre size weighs is perfect for carrying around on your next adventure!

Weather Resistance

We filled them with towels to test water-resistant capabilities and sprayed down the product.

The Black Hole is an excellent choice for outdoor activities, especially if you’re looking to keep your belongings dry. Unfortunately, the seams and zippers are not submersible or watertight, but they do a great job keeping the rain out nonetheless.

You can’t go wrong with a Patagonia Black Hole duffel bag. Admittedly, it’s one of the most expensive options in our lineup, but it also has some features you won’t find anywhere else.

We recommend getting the bag that suits you best – especially if it will be your go-to for years. The Black Hole duffel is high quality, fully-featured and made to last.

What We Like of Patagonia Black Hole

According to Patagonia’s website, the bag includes the following features:

  • The main compartment has a large opening, zippered side pocket, and mesh pockets in the lid.
  • These are all excellent locations to keep equipment like chargers, add-ons, and (underwear) for me.
  • It instantly fits into a compartment of its own.
  • The bag’s compact size makes it very easy to store. However, for the duffel bag to fold itself, it will need some outstanding origami abilities.
  • It was lashing attachments with a burly, reinforced daisy chain.
  • Adjustable clips within the bag provide internal compression.
  • This is a fantastic feature for people who want to compress their belongings down to the bottom of their bags.
  • To safeguard the contents of the case, a cushioned base is included.

What We Don,t Like of Patagonia Black Hole

  • The bag does not carry out nicely while now no longer absolutely loaded
  • Backpack strap adjuster and extra strap can get withinside the manner
